11:10 PM EDT 5/28/99 - Okay, so I'm not quite dead yet. I've just been working these last two weeks. Yeah, you heard me correctly; I was working. Anyway, since I'm such a busy man, I'm trying to save a little time right now by cutting my fingernails as I update. And as I'm cutting my fingernails, I'm looking down at my toes to see if they need any maintenance today. Luckily for me, I think it's alright. So 7 more fingers and I'm done for the night. But yeah, I've been a little busy...and if my orders come in alright, I'll be leaving for my army basic training in a little less than a week. Scary, huh? I mean, they're actually gonna give me an M-16 to play with and everything. Oh well...I'm kind of gonna miss stuff while I'm gone though. Among those things are my computer, my television, my CDs, my bed, my shower, and last, but definitely not least, my toys! Oh, and yeah, friends and family. I'll miss them too. But anyway, I've still got a little time before that happens, so today I'd like to post a link up. Yeah, finally...and it's actually a link to music. I actually looked at this band maybe a year ago, and I have another link posted for them in my indie bands page. But anyway, the band is MILK and they're a pretty good alt-rock band. And they just put out a whole bunch of new music, so take a look there and download some for your listening pleasure.
1:55 AM EDT 5/24/99 - So I finally saw the Star Wars movie today, and it was enjoyable and everything....but I've got to say that The Matrix was like a billion times better. I loved the racing scenes and the lightsaber fights, but there was something missing from the whole plot. I don't know. I was just a little disappointed. But I wasn't really a big fan of the first three Star Wars movies anyway, so it's not too big of a deal, I guess. The one thing that really bothered me, though, was the line at the theater. The Uptown is pretty big, but I got there about an hour and a half before showtime. I had my ticket in hand, and there were over 400 people in line in front of me, all ready to get in. I think the guy with the counter said 423. Now what's up with that? And to top it off, none of the people in line were even dressed up. That's the real disappointment. I don't think I've seen anyone dressed up as one of the characters from the movie. That's part of the experience that I really feel deprived of. I'm sure I'll get over it though. Who knows....maybe Episode II will be better.
11:55 AM EDT 5/18/99 - Yeah, so I kinda took a short break from this page. I would have said something to you, but it really wasn't something I'd planned. So much has been happening in the last few weeks, and I just haven't had a chance to do all that much online. I had my finals finish up last week right around now and then I took a little time for myself before my brother's graduation, and then I had to pack up all of my stuff and move back home here with my sibs and my pants. Oh, and yesterday, I went to Best Buy with my friend Craig. Guess what I saw!!?! I was just walking strolling through the aisles when something caught my attention. Get this...there's a new soundtrack out for Felicity!! Can you believe that? So now there's the Felicity soundtrack and the Dawson's Creek one I need to get eventually. If only I had a job and a car right now, everything would be great....it wouldn't hurt if I passed all of my classes last semester too...but it doesn't look like that's gonna happen either. But you know what? That's not gonna bother me for now. Right now, things are great, and they're gonna stay like that for a long time. I ship out for Army Basic Training in about two weeks, and I'll be gone for a few months, so I won't be able to update this page much while that goes on. But once I get back, I'll take a short vacation before I head back to school, where I'll finally be a SENIOR!! Yay!! Exclamation points everywhere!!! I guess you can say I'm kinda happy about some of this stuff. Oh!! And I'm gonna go see the new Star Wars movie this sunday in the huge Uptown Theatre in DC this Sunday. That'll be a pretty cool experience. I've never been there before, but I've heard that it's big and loud. Anyhoo, I'd stay and write some more, but I've really got to go to the bathroom now (number 2, in case you were wondering), so I'll leave it at that. Bye bye for now.
8:00 AM EDT 4/30/99 - I can feel it...the end of the semester is getting soo close, and the big question on everybody's mind is whether or not Sonny is gonna pass all of his classes again. That there is a question that even I can't answer right now...though I'm hoping for a yes, he'll ace all of his finals and get straight A's this semester. Unfortunately, that's not going to happen. To be honest though, I'd settle for a yes, he'll do relatively well on all his finals and get straight D-minuses for the semester.
Oh! I went to the record store with Tommy yesterday, and guess what I saw. I couldn't believe it myself, and it took all of my strength not to buy it, but I was able to walk out of that place without spending $14 on the new Dawson's Creek Soundtrack!! I really don't know how much longer I'll be able to hold out, but that really is sooo tempting. I mean, it combines the two things I love to waste time and money on: WB shows and CDs
5:40 PM EDT 4/27/99 - I have yet to grow tired of my Rentals CD. I've had that in my computer for the last week, with the exception of a few hours when I wanted to listen to some Cake and Blink 182. On top of that, I've been occupied this last week because mynew issues of Cosmopolitan and Details just came in. There's a lot of cool stuff in there...oh, and then there's physics homework and stuff...blah.
And you know what's really strange? I haven't even been watching much tv this last month. I've been working out a bit and playing some basketball though, trying to get in shape because I failed my Army physical fitness test a few weeks ago. Am I a scrub or what? I don't know...
11:30 AM EDT 4/20/99 - I found out that Winamp finally indexed my HokieAmp yesterday. They gave me 3 stars out of 5, which isn't too bad, I guess. It was here the last time I checked, but as more skins get indexed, I might be shifted down the list. Anyhoo, that's that, and I am now in the final month of my junior year at Tech and I am getting my butt kicked. Yesterday, I just found out that I have a physics test this wednesday, and I just finished my math take-home test a few minutes ago. It's due at 12:30, so I had about an hour to spare. Not bad, huh? Oh well...besides the whole failing out of school thing, the rest of my life is going great - in case you were wondering. It wouldn't hurt if I had a car and more money though...or if my new issue of Cosmo would hurry up and get here.
2:30 AM EDT 4/13/99 - Okay, right after midnight, I headed out with Tommy to go get the new Rentals album. I got it for $11.88 at Mike's and I've already listened through it twice. It's soooooo good. Everyone...I mean everyone...everyone needs to go and get this album. Actually, everyone needs to go get their first album, Return of the Rentals and then get this one, Seven More Minutes. They are both incredible and I mean it.
11:30 AM EDT 4/9/99 - Everyone!! The Rentals' new album comes out in less than a week on April 13th! Next week is going to be quite possibly the best week in my life. The Rentals have a new album out, I don't think I have any tests, I'm getting my Felicity Mobile, I'm getting packages in the mail, and who knows....I might even get lucky. *laugh*
Anyway, I'm about to take my brother's car home for the weekend to do laundry and whatnot, so I won't be around until Sunday. Oh, and I almost forgot. Tim, from SonicNet wrote me an e-mail the other day making me a nice little offer about advertising on this site. To be honest, I love when people do this, but I hate it at the same time. I mean, I like free money just as much as the next guy, but it was part of my agreement with Geocities that I wouldn't make any money off of this site. On the other hand, Geocities allows me to make friends through this site...and that's as good as money, isn't it...*laugh* that was sooo cheesy. Oh well....go visit SonicNet anyway. It's a great site, with a handy little search you can use to find news on your favorite bands. I even found a few Rentals articles there, so it can't be too bad, right?
I don't know...I think it's time for me to pack.
Bye.
3:30 AM EDT 4/7/99 - Wow! have I been that busy? I haven't updated since last month. Now, you guys probably think this is an easy job, updating this crappy little page every day; but you have no idea the kinds of things I go through every day. Like today, my Dietrick Die-sters...we lost our 4th straight game (3-0 this time) and we got knocked out of the tournament. On top of that, I actually went to two of my three classes today, and I still had to get my 5-10 hours of ICQ and InstantMessenger in before I went to bed.
So yeah, it's not as easy as it looks. I'll try to keep you all informed with what's going on with me, but I don't know...it'd be easier if I had a car. Does anyone have one they can give me? if you have one you can lend to me for a few weekends here and there, that'd work too....no? *sigh* I don't know. Was that just completely random or what? I'm so tired. Good night.
4:00 AM EST 3/29/99 - Does anyone remember Jem? THIS is quite possibly my new favorite music site...or maybe not. But Jem is cool, and that's all I have to say about that. On another random note, my uncle said something to me this afternoon. He asked me if I've been losing weight. Is that not great or what? Anyway, I should go to bed now. I've got a noon class tomorrow. *laugh* Hey, believe me...I need my beauty sleep.
4:50 AM EST 3/26/99 - The hot water just died on me about halfway through my shower a few minutes ago, so I'm not in the best mood right now. And we lost our soccer game today too...only 1-0 this time though. But either way, losing sucks...unless you had a girlfriend waiting to console you afterwards. I'm assuming that'd be pretty good, though I wouldn't know this from experience, of course. But, you know...sometimes, when I get some bad luck here and there, I don't feel all that bad; sometimes, I actually feel special. Becuase it's like God's taking the time out of his busy schedule to mess with my life...and that's cool, I guess. I mean, I'd rather he just give me a whole bunch of good luck one of these days or maybe find a cure for cancer or something...but I'm sure he's got his plan, so that's alright. I'll play along. You people have no clue what I'm talking about, do you? You probably think I'm just rambling on right now to fill up space on this page just to make people think I actually spend time updating it every few days. *laugh* oh well...
3:00 AM EST 3/24/99 - *sigh* I always tend to slack on this page when my physics exams roll around. I'm pretty sure I passed this one I took today, though it didn't help that the fire alarm went off here in Pritchard at 3:50 last night/morning. That's okay, though, because the Rentals are releasing their new album on April 13th, or so I hear. That's just about three weeks from now. I saw a few advanced copies going for about 30-40 bucks on eBay these last few weeks, but I think I can wait for now. It's gonna be sooo good though. I has to be.
You know what? I've got 8 friggin' IM windows open right now. I'm not talking to anyone, but I've just left them open from the last day or two. It's fun sometimes, reading through all the things you said. You know what I mean? That's why I like keeping my old updates...because sometimes, I just like going back and reading through all the crap I went through months and months ago. It's actually fun sometimes. You should give it a try if you have time.
4:45 AM EST 3/20/99 - You know what sucks about being up right now? There's absolutely no one to talk to. Not only have all of my dork friends gone to sleep by now, but all of the drunk partiers are gone too. So that leaves like no one. I'm glad that I added myself to my own buddy list today because right now, I'm the only one online. Oh well....I'm gonna brush my teeth now while Jesse sleeps in his bed. If I don't see someone pop up in the next few minutes, I'm going to go to sleep myself.
3:40 AM EST 3/19/99 - *laugh* Does anyone remember around this time last year when intramural soccer started? Last year, when I was captain of the Saco Supremes, we scored exactly zero points all season, and I remembered how I'd come here and complain after we lost every game. Well, this year is going to be completely different. Instead of our team being called the Saco Supremes, we are now the Dietrick Die-sters. There are, however, a few things that don't change all that much. We lost, 6-1. Can you believe that? Well, I guess you can because I always lose...but I assure you, there used to be a time when I was good at this. No, seriously. *sigh* I'm sooo tired. But I just ate half if a pepperoni pizza from Gumby's a ittle while ago, so I should stay up for a little while before I head to bed. Three's nothing to do though. *yawn* Actually, I take that back. There is something to do. It's my new obsession of sorts. Have any of you been to Ebay.com? Well, if not, don't get started. I've only been going there for like two weeks now, and it's soo bad. It's like they know you don't have enough money to buy anything, but they still get to do it anyway. I have like no self-control. I need help!
4:25 AM EST 3/17/99 - You know what? I forget to update this page all the time. If I didn't have people complaining all the time, I probably wouldn't get anything done. Which leads me to today's topic, the Contest I've been so excited about for the last month now. I know what some of you are thinking right now...which leads me to today's topic?...these two things have nothing to do with each other. For those of you who are thinking that, I don't know how to respond...except by saying that this is my page and I can write whatever I want. If I want to use uncorrect grammar, I can use uncorrect grammar. If I only want to update once a week, I'll only update once a week. And if I ever want to use profanity, I can frickin' use frickin' profanity. Who are you to tell me what I can or cannot do on my own page?
*smile* Okay, so here are the winners of last month's contest. In no particular order...no, wait. I think I'm going to do it in alphabetical order. No, how about I do it in the order in which the entries were received. That would be more fair. Okay, so in the order in which the entries were recieved, here are the winners of the contest: Sandy Verrilli. Thanks for everyone else who tried, and for those of you who didn't try....you suck. I've never been more disappointed in my entire life. Too bad this world couldn't be filled with more Sandy Verrillis...because if it were, everyone would know that my full name is Sonny Waeshal Louie...that my birthday is October 24, 1979....that my MP3 page began on November 17, 1997...that my professor for physics at 11:00 is Dr. Marvin Blecher...that my four roommates were named Lenny, Chris, Norm, and Jesse....that my left eye is smaller than my right...that my address is 5040 Pritchard East, Blacksburg VA 24060-0023...that I love to eat at Dietrick....that my screen resolution is set to 1280x1024....that I never skipped a class in high school, got a 1480 on my SATs, have 81 college credits, and rushed for 133 yards on 19 carries against Centreville. And you'd also know that I got an interception in that game, even though they never bothered to mention that in the Washington Post article. But more importantly, if the world were filled with Sandy Verrillis the world would be a more caring and peaceful place filled with very attractive college girls who also happen to be single. *whisper* Is that what you wanted, Sandy?
Okay...I'm done now. I should be sleeping, anyway. Good night....oh! and Happy St.Patrick's
Day!
3:10 AM EST 3/14/99 - ...so that was my spring break. It's nice to be back here in my dorm room now....even though there isn't any food here at all. I actually ended up losing close to ten pounds this last week due to not being about to eat food after I got my wisdom teeth removed. Anyway...sorry for not updating this last week. I was at home, enjoying what little time online that I did have, chatting it up with some new friends and with some guy pretending that he knew me from high school...or maybe he did know me...who knows. My point is that I miss this place. It's nice to be back.
2:45 AM EST 3/5/99 - So it's that time of year again...spring break time. You know what that means; that means I have to spend another week at home, away from my T-1 line. Instead of a 10 megabit connection, I'm going to have to settle with fighting with my sisters over a 56Kb modem connection with Erol's. You see, for most people, spring break is a nice relaxing week with free time to do whatever. For me, it means a weekend away from my computer, followed by a dentist appointment, and getting phone calls at 5:00 in the morning with substitute teaching positions for me to fill. I guess I really don't have it too bad, but I like complaining nonetheless. Maybe, one of these days, I'll run out of stuff to complain about and you can e-mail me complaints of your own....Oh, wait...people already do write in with complaints of their own!
*smile* Just kidding. Although it doesn't alway seem like it, I love getting e-mail. And if you still have time, you might want to try entering in my little CONTEST that ends in just over a week from now. That'd make me happier than anything else. Well, maybe not anything else, but it'd be like one of the top 50 things that'd make me happy. The top three would probably deal with money, chicks, and school. I'd also like a car and a new computer. But getting more entries in my CONTEST, even if they aren't all right....that'd be in the top 50.
2:35 AM EST 3/2/99 - Okay, so I'm guessing everyone wants to know what I've been up to these last few days. Well, I've been watching a lot of movies and sleeping and studying for my stupid physics test; that's what. I saw Shawshank Redemption again today, and I saw Full Metal Jacket the other day, along with Sliver.. They were all good movies, especially Shawshank (which I just found out is Sandy's favorite movie), but what was just as good was when I finally got my new Sugar Ray CD yesterday. I listened to it a few times while lying in bed yesterday night...instead of studying. It was a good album, though - much better than Floored. I didn't do much else...I was lazy.
